Research Scientist
Biography
Xianfei Wen's research interests include active nondestructive assay of nuclear materials and scintillator-based gamma/neutron detector development. At UTK, he supports the IDEAS for WIND program and manages the radiation instrumentation laboratory. The topic of his PhD work was active interrogation using the photofission technique. He has considerable experience in delayed gamma-ray spectroscopic measurements, in measurements for fast timing or high count rate applications, and with MCNP. He holds a Ph.D degree in Nuclear Engineering from Oregon State University and a MS in Nuclear Science and Technology from Tsinghua University.
