The Rad IDEAS group at UT-Knoxville researches Radiation Instrumentation, including DEtectors, imaging, and associated Algorithms and Systems for the technologies of tomorrow. Our approach is geared toward solving fundamental science and engineering challenges of significance to our nation and world.
Our interdisciplinary research is conducted mainly in dedicated lab space at the University of Tennessee or in facilities available at the nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Y-12 National Security Complex. We pride ourselves on reporting our findings in peer-reviewed publications.
We are thankful for the generous support of our sponsors including the Department of Energy, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, UT-Battelle, and Consolidated Nuclear Services. We are also proud to be part of a department, college, university, and local community dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement.
